THE CHURCH

It is written that the church was initially registered in front of a notary on the 16th.  February, 1509 in Rescafrie. The master stonemason Juan Gil de Honteńon was appointed to construct the main body of the church, with additional work by Fernando Garcia de Frutos.

It was declared a national monument in  November,  1983. 

The Almorox Picota
LA PICOTA


This monument is located in the central square, the Plaza de la Constitución. It was built to celebrate the village being awarded the title villa, which represented the ending of the influence of feudal lords. This was formalized by King Felipe II, by royal decree on the 11th. April, 1566.   

The Almorox Ermita (Chapel)LA ERMITA

This chapel is located on the eastern approach to the village center. It was built over the ancient chapel of the Virgin of the Piedad. It was completed renovated between 1630 and 1639.

AYUNTAMIENTO (Town hall)

Located in the village square, called the Plaza de la Constitución, this building was completed 1799, during the reign of Carlos IV. It is constructed in stone, and consists of two stories with a portal of five arches.

In 1999, there was a celebration to mark its  200 years.
